Sorry for the delay in adding to this blog. Other things have taken precedence.

My brother, Tommy, was here this weekend. I got a much-needed break from my normal routine. My friend, Betty, persuaded her aunt to share one of her season tickets to TUTS in Houston. I was privileged to be one of the first to see the musical of “ Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.” It was an interesting afternoon! We decided it would be better if a few changes were made. I looked for a “suggestion box” but never saw one.

When I got home, Mama grabbed me like I had been gone for days. Guess it is kind of nice to be loved.

Sunday I took Mama to teach Sunday School. She read the lesson from the week before. It didn’t make much more sense than it had the week before. He pronunciation is getting worse. I am not sure if she is having trouble seeing or if the mistakes are similar to those made b beginning readers. Sometimes she does fine, and then she will seem to pick a letter anywhere in the word and say the first thing that comes to her mind. Bless Dan and Charlene’s hearts for sticking with her. Our class has dwindled to the two of them and me.

That man (Tommy) joined us for church. Mama greeted him like she had never seen him before. She does not remember he is her son. Of course, she still hugs the preacher several times acting like it is the first time she has seen her that day. As we were singing the last hymn, a phone suddenly started playing a tune. Everyone looked around to see who the tacky person was. I realized it was MY phone. Betty was calling to see if I wanted to go to Lake Jackson with her. She asked, “Where are you?” I whispered, “I am in church.” She was properly mortified for calling. Quite a few people instructed me on the proper phone etiquette for church services. I said the only two people who call me on that phone were sitting next to me, I didn’t even think about the thing ringing!! I will silence it from now on, though. I may be a slow learner, but I do learn!!
more later.
