Mama

Wednesday night I was working on my computer when Mama came to tell me goodnight. She told me to "give these to the man when he comes" and handed me her baggie of cookies. I reached for the cookies and the bag was so heavy I almost dropped it. That certainly got my attention. I started laughing as I looked at the “cookies”. She was down to her last two baked ones so I guess she grabbed the only thing she could find that resembled cookies—potatoes. But not just any potatoes, these were sprouting. I guess they had been pushed back and forgotten until Mama searched them out! My first instinct was to cook some more cookies, but then I decided I could not be selfish and keep others from experiencing the “new recipe”. Penny took them out Thursday morning before Mama could pass them out at the beauty parlor.

Another cookie substitute has been Bandit’s doggie treats. Guess one night she was giving him a treat so she could make her trek around the house to find “those people”, and he was tired of that particular treat. So she just added it to the bag of cookies. I ended up giving Bandit the cookie crumbs and treat. Guess the added crumbs dressed it up enough and made it okay to eat.

So far the time change hasn’t affected Mama. Will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow morning when I have to go to work.

Need to go for now.
