Michelle had taken Mama to her house overnight a few days ago. When they came back to our house, she, Penny, and Beverly were drinking coffee and visiting after Mama had gone to bed. After a short time, Mama came into the living room making a fashion statement for one and all. She was wearing a short green sweater with a scarf tied around the middle like a belt. She had her Depends on as her bra, her bra on as panties with another Depends over that. She had on her socks and slippers. She was headed for the front door to go see all those people who were coming to visit. Am sure she thought she was dressed in her finest outfit.

I guess they had a time getting all the items off so they could get her dressed correctly. Michelle said she would almost get the sweater off; Mama would grab it and pull it back on. They must have felt like they had been in a battle. It is amazing how strong Mama's hands are. She can grab hold of something and it is unbelievably difficult to get her to let loose. It is almost impossible for one person to undo some of her creative dressing--I know because I have had my share of times when I had to coax her out of her latest fashion trend.

Mama has always loved giving things to people. She fattened us all up with her cookies. She used to give away whole cookies. Then she started breaking off good sized pieces to give away. Last night she called me telling me to "come to my house." I went in to her; she held out her hand offering me something. I reached out for this treat, and she gave me one little speck of cookie. It was so funny that I started laughing and didn't think I was going to be able to stop. It really is kind of precious that she still thinks of others as she is demanding our presence in her room!

Mama slept really well last night. I went in to check on her this morning before I left for work. She was lying on her back with her mouth opened. She looked quite pale and very still. I was a little worried until she took a breath. She really didn't look like she was still among the living. I guess she was really sleeping hard.

Uh oh, she is calling for me. Guess she isn't into that deep sleep tonight.

Until next time, hugs,
