Mama took her bath without fussing last night. I really couldn't believe it!

This morning she got up and took her time getting ready. When she walked into the kitchen, I got out the cookie dough (it is in a roll like Pillsbury refrigerator cookies), and told her she needed to cook some for the "lady that teaches". She said, "What's that?" I just put the dough back in the freezer. I wrote her a note telling her it was Sunday so we needed to go to church. She got out the cookie dough that she had not recognized just a minute before and began slicing the dough for cookies.

We were a bit late for Sunday School, but not too bad considering. She still tries to teach the Sunday School lesson. The class has dwindled to me and two other people who have been friends of ours for many years. They are so sweet to sit through her mispronunciations. (de-sip-uls and bibble are two of my favorites) If we don’t have a book in front of us, it is like listening to a foreign language. She studies that lesson all week. I think she would be lost if she didn’t have a lesson to prepare each week. So we sit and listen each and every Sunday because it means so much to Mama.

Mama gets so confused about what time it is on the weekend. She drives me crazy arguing about what time is really is. A friend came up with the idea to tape the regular set of weekday shows that Mama watches. Then I can show them on Saturday and Sunday to keep her from being so mixed up time-wise on those days. I tried it yesterday and it seemed to work just fine. I tried it again today; it didn’t work as well. She still thought it was 6:30 when it was actually 5:30. She is just like a small child learning to tell time; if the hour hand is close to the six then it must be 6 something. I guess it worked yesterday because I was gone about the same time as a usual weekday due to U.I.L. competition for our students. Oh, well, I will keep trying it. Last week I tried taking her into her bedroom to see her digital clock; she wouldn’t believe that one was correct. When we finally got into the car, I pointed to the digital clock on the dash; she said it was not correct. My aunt is bringing a digital clock for the living room when she and my uncle come in January; maybe that will solve the problem!!

Need to go finish some projects. Until next time, hugs to all.
