This time change has me all messed up. Mama's time schedule has me even more messed up! I didn't write down events as they were happening so now it is all a jumble so the following may not be in the exact order of occurrence, but think you will be able to get the general idea of what my weekend has been like.

Even though I gave Mama a half an Ambien and an antihistamine both nights, she was up about every two hours to either go to the bathroom, open the blankety-blank front door, or both bathroom and door. She worked on the deadbolt until I couldn't get the key to turn (again). I had to go outside and unlock it so we could get out. She would get up, run to the door, open it, tell the cat hello,(one we inherited from David Green's place at the station) and then drag me back to the back of the house so I couldn't close the door. I would get her into bed, and then sneak back to the front of the house and lock the door. About the time I would doze off, she would be up and running to the front door to open it again so "that man could come in." Since I couldn't lock the deadbolt, I ran with her every time. I was really tempted to "run" to the car and head for a motel, but couldn't leave her here by herself.

She tried to get up all last night, but I would tell her it was not time to get up and coax her back to bed. Of course, this meant I had to get up every time. Finally this morning about 6:30, she refused to go back to bed so we got up. I got dressed for church and just as it was time to leave, she went back to bed. I could not convince her that we needed to go. She had her mind set. So I called the church to tell them she was being hard headed. They suggested I go back to bed, too. I wasn't going to, but decided I might as well. No sooner had I put my head on the pillow, and you guessed it, she was up and headed for the door. I finally gave up after she had made 4 trips in less than 30 minutes. I got up and started unpacking some stuff in the laundry room. I found all kinds of things. Mama came through a few times and would always ask why I didn't go to slip. I must admit my answers became a bit snippy as the day has worn on.

It is 4:20 Sunday afternoon, and she is still running back and forth. I put her clothes out a couple of hours ago, but she just keeps going to bed, getting up, sloughing in to look outside, then sloughing back to bed. It is driving me bananas!!

I spoke with Michelle earlier. She was sick part of last week and Beverly subbed for her. I told her she had better get plenty of rest today since Mama has not settled at all. Hope she doesn't have a relapse!!

Pulling out my hair and sending hugs to all,
me--Connie
