Mama

My experiences while living with my mother and her Alzheimer's Disease.(her birthdate = January 2, 1925)

We have had a cold rainy Sunday. Mama was sleeping so good this morning I really hated to wake her up, but knew she would not be happy if we missed Sunday school and church. We had to step lively to get there on time, but we slid in just as it was about to begin. We usually go to Golden Corral to eat lunch, but it was such yucky weather that we just came home. Mama wasn't too happy, but she adjusted.

She would not go to her room for a nap so I stretched out on the couch while she cuddled up in her Lazy Boy. We both dozed a bit while she looked for those guests that never came. This evening I was ready to take her to the Baptist church, but she said she wanted to eat. So we ate. Around 7:15 she asked me to take her "down there". I told her church had already started. She said, "Uh huh, take me now." So I took her. This gave me time to change her sheets and shake the cookie crumbs out of her bedspread. She is home now and getting ready for bed. I guess I should do the same.

Hugs to all.
